Deleting my account
You close your account yourself, without asking anyone. Read first what is kept: it isn't everything, and there is no going back.
-
Take your data with you first
From “My account”, the export button hands you a file containing everything we hold. Download your invoices too: after deletion you will no longer have access to them. Now is the moment, not afterwards.
-
Check the two conditions
The screen checks them before offering the button:
- No upcoming booking. If one remains, cancel it first: the place is held for you and the instructor is expecting you.
- Any credits you have left will be lost and are not refundable. The screen says so and lets you decide; it does not stop you.
-
Confirm with your password
The password is asked for again at the moment of the click. An account left open on a shared computer must not be enough to destroy a history.
-
What happens next
A last confirmation email goes out before the deletion — afterwards, the address no longer exists. You are signed out and your sessions are closed everywhere.
What disappears and what remains
Deletion is not the removal of a row from a database. Live data disappears; accounting documents are frozen.
| Data | After deletion |
|---|---|
| Surname, first name, email address | Erased |
| Postal address, phone number | Erased |
| Your dog's name and the notes about it | Erased |
| Your permissions and your preferences | Erased |
| Your past bookings | Kept without your identity |
| Your invoices and credit notes | Kept as they are |
Invoices carry an identity frozen at the moment they were issued, and that is exactly what gives them evidential value. Belgian accounting law requires them to be kept for several years: we cannot erase them on request, and nobody could.
Automatic deletion
An account left inactive for a very long time is deleted by itself, under the same rule. A warning email comes first, and signing in again is enough to restart the count: somebody returning after a long absence keeps their history.
Common questions
- I'm told I have an upcoming booking.
- Cancel it from its own page, then come back here. See Viewing and cancelling my bookings
- Are my credits refunded?
- No. Closing an account is not a withdrawal from a purchase: unused credits are lost, as the terms provide. If your purchase is recent and no credit has been used, look at the withdrawal instead, from “My subscription”.
- Can I get my account back?
- No. You can create a new one with the same address, but it will start empty: no history, no credits, no invoices.
- Will I keep receiving messages?
- No. Messages still queued are deleted along with the account, and the address no longer appears anywhere.
